Traversía a nado el Río (Swimming Race)

La Graciosa is home to many events such as the the annual swim called Traversía a nado el Río (est. 1993). Competitors swim (2600 metres) from the lovely beach at the bottom of the Mirador del Río over the water to the Caleta de Sebo harbour where they are met by the local mayor, presented with a medal and a free lunch.​ The event is normally held on a Saturday towards the last week of September. This year there were over 600 entrants for the swim from all over the globe.
